Wintertime in Florida means slightly colder weather, and with this comes the Floridian’s innate nature to take as much of an advantage of the lack of scalding sun and humidity as possible; our Seeds staff is here to provide. The hot chocolate sales have started, and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you can get your very own cup of hot chocolate from 7:45 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. for a dollar. If you feel that you have a stronger need for these delicious winter drinks, you can get a deluxe cup for only $2.
Seeds also has many more fundraisers on campus this year to look forward to, including the annual carnation sale for Valentine’s Day.
“We usually sell about 500-600 carnations a year,” communications sophomore Angelica Abraham said. “Local flower shops donate their flowers to us, which is extremely helpful.” Planning these events is no easy task. The Seeds staffers work year-round to make sure they constantly have competitions, fundraisers, and events happening around campus. “We discuss our ideas for Seeds events at the very beginning of the year, and have to get them approved by the school to create a schedule for the rest of the year,” Abraham said.
