Hundreds of students and parents lined the hallways of Dreyfoos for what they hoped would be their future high school. On Nov. 4, Dreyfoos hosted Prospective Student Night. Students hoping to go to Dreyfoos in the future attended the event to receive more information.
For two 30 minute blocks, art deans for communications, theatre, visual arts, dance, and digital media gave presentations and information about their respective art areas. Magnet Coordinator Patrick Marshall also answered questions about admissions and the magnet program. Afterwards, SGA officers provided tours of the school and answered any questions.
“[Prospective Student Night] is a good thing because people have a lot of choices when it comes to high school, and everyone wants the best fit,” communications dean Angela Anyzeski said. “People want their kids to succeed. High school has gotten so stressful and rigorous as a pathway to college. [Coming to Dreyfoos] is a significant decision, and anything I can do to help is a good thing.”
Another Prospective Student Night will be held on Nov. 10. Music will be the only art area giving presentations. However, Mr. Marshall and SGA will be there again. Any prospective student is invited to attend the next one; it is not exclusive to those interested in music.
