Students ages 16 and up registered or pre-registered to vote in the cafeteria at lunch Tuesday, Sept. 17. While those under 18 years old by the Presidential Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5 cannot vote in the upcoming election, they were able to pre-register, allowing them to vote once they turn 18.
At a small table near the front of the cafeteria, students registering to vote picked up a voter registration form and a bracelet, stress ball, pen, or lanyard, each colored red, white, and blue.
“Having voter registration available at school (is) so convenient because we all just go pick it up, fill it out and give it right back to them,” communications senior Ayan Payne said. “It’s us participating in our civic duty, especially as young adults.”
