116 of Dreyfoos’ highest academically achieving juniors and seniors filed into Meyer Hall on Sept. 15 to be honored as the newest inductees of the National Honor Society (NHS). Parents and faculty joined them for the Induction Ceremony.
The pillars that all NHS members are supposed to follow are character, scholarship, leadership, and service. The induction began with speeches about each of the pillars from officers in NHS
“The purpose of the induction is to celebrate the new members formally,” band senior and NHS president Ethan Weatherdon said.
In addition to the student inductees, head guidance counselor Georgia Mounce and social studies teacher Tom West became honorary inductees of NHS. West Palm Beach police chief Bryan Kummerlen also came to speak.
